Why “Kompani”?

Kompani honors kumpania — the Romani word for a band of families who travel the road together. That's not a metaphor; it's the whole product: a few families, one trip, everything shared. We ran it through a clean Scandinavian filter — the K, the pared-down spelling — so the name looks as tidy as a handled trip finally feels. (That company also traces back to sharing bread is a happy coincidence we'll gladly take.)

The origin

We're a handful of families with little kids who love getting away together — and hate everything it takes to make it happen. The seventeen-reply thread. The one person fronting the house. The month of “hey, can you Venmo me?” So we built the thing we wished existed.

The whole point

Getting together should be the easy part — and being together should be even easier. No ads, no selling your data, no tax on paying your friends back.
